Dreamcatchers Dream catchers are one of the most fascinating traditions of Native Americans. The traditional dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while letting positive dreams through. 'Dream catchers (webbed and beaded circles hung with feathers from the base of the circle) have long been a part of Native American religion, lore, and art. They have caught on within the New Age movement into popular culture. The purpose of a dream catcher is to supposedly catch dreams—that is, to trap bad. In some Native American and First Nations cultures, a dreamcatcher or dream catcher (Ojibwe: asabikeshiinh, the inanimate form of the word for 'spider') is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. The dreamcatcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads. Celebrated for their striking geometric spider-web design, the dream catcher was originally the product of Ojibwe Indian culture, as a means of ultimate talismanic protection. Its origins lie in Ojibwe legend, which tells of a Spider Woman who protected their people from evil forces. The dream catcher was created to honor this legend, designed as a symbolic means to snare evil forces and particularly bad dreams.

The creation of a dream catcher traditionally begins with a hoop constructed from willow. On to this hoop a loose, woven mesh, akin to a spider web, of fiber made from either animal tissues or plant materials. Following this weaving, the catcher is decorated with both symbolic and sacred objects, such as feathers or beads. Later spread to other tribes, the dream catcher is recognized today as a powerful and persevering symbol of American Indian history that continues to delight.

When I am designing and making my dream catchers, I take into consideration: Color, Symmetry, Detail, Emotion, Thought, Motivation, Alignments, Feeling.....

I Play COOL - SMOOTH JAZZ - ACOUSTIC - SOFT ROCK music when I design and sew them so that GOOD vibrations and energy is incorporated into each dream catcher. Dream Catchers are feng shui instruments that require tuning while making them so music is important in the process.

I have been asked why I use 'plastic' beads (made in the USA). I love the color. Although I do have lots of Glass beads. So, if you want glass beads, you can custom order and I will use glass beads for you.

I also offer 'custom' designs (weddings, baby showers, gender reveal, funerals) so if you need something special for a special ocassion or area of your home, simply give a convo and I will try my best to acommodate your request.

Each dream catcher comes with a Certificate of Authenticity attached along with The Dream Catcher Legend. On the Certificate of Authenticity is the name of the dream catcher along with the Signature of the Artist.
